Sticky Honey Garlic Spareribs

Ingredients

  • 1 kg pork spareribs 1cut into individual pieces
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 4 garlic cloves smashed and minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • toasted sesame seeds garnish

Instructions

Blanched the ribs

  • Place ribs in a pot of boiling water and cook for 3–5 minutes to remove impurities.
  • Drain and rinse under cold water. Pat dry with paper towels.

Sear the Ribs

  • Heat oil in a pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the ribs and sear until lightly browned on all sides.
  • Push the ribs to one side. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (don’t burn it!).
  • Mix in soy sauce, dark soy sauce, honey, and water.

Simmer

  • Stir everything together and bring to a simmer.
  • Cover and simmer on low heat for 30–40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until ribs are tender and the sauce has reduced.

To Finish

  • Drizzle in sesame oil and toss to coat. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds. Serve hot with steamed white rice or noodles.
