Halloween Monster Apple Snacks

Prep Time 15 minutes
Servings 4 people

Ingredients

  • 4-5 Granny Smith's Green Apples
  • 3 tbsp peant butter smooth
  • 3 strawberries medium or small sizes thinly sliced
  • 15-20 peanuts
  • 1 inch fondant ball or sliced dried fruits or 20 pzs cheerios cereal
  • 20 chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Wash and dry the apples. Cut the apples in quarters (cut 4 pieces per apple). Also cut out the stem and the core of the apple.
  • Take a slice of the apple, and using a paring knife, cut a hole in the center of the the skin of the apple (this is where the mouth will be). Adjust the size of the mouth according to the slice of the strawberries. Each mouth will be different sizes depending on the size of the strawberry.
  • Add peanut butter all over the cut hole. Grab a piece of slice strawberry and firmly press it to the mouth. Add the peanuts to the top of the mouth and firmly press the peanuts into mouth as well.
You can add as many or as little peanuts here. BE CREATIVE!
  • Lastly, take a small piece of fondant and press it down to a flat circular shape (or whatever food you choose that is flat and circular). Tap some peanut butter to the back and front of the circular object. First glue the fondant to the apple slices first and then press the chocolate chips on top.
You can add one eye or up to three eyes per monster.

Notes

  • To keep the apples from going brown, Dip or brush lime juice to the flesh of the apples.
